SVP, Distribution Strategy & Operations | Viacom
John Curbishley is SVP, Distribution Strategy and Operations for Viacom Media Networks. In this role, he leads strategic planning and business operations for all linear and digital distribution partnerships across Viacom's portfolio of cable properties, including Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, the Paramount Network, VH1, TV Land and CMT. He reports to Tom Gorke, Head of Distribution and Business Development at Viacom.
Before joining Viacom, John's 20 year career in the media industry has included roles with NBCUniversal, where he was SVP Business Development for a number of digital media properties, and before that as a management consultant in the media practice of Booz Allen & Hamilton, based in their New York office. John started his career in television in the corporate strategy team at the BBC in London in the late 1990s.
John holds a BA in Law from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives with his wife in New York City.
